Creating a Budget from a Template

Start a budget by importing a pre-built template with its cost codes already set up.

Budgets start blank, with no line items. This is one of two ways to start one — the other is building a budget line by line.

This method lets you reuse sets of cost codes tailored to specific job types. For example, you might create a "Kitchen Remodel" template with a limited set of cost codes, and a "New Build" template with a much more extensive set.

You create and edit templates under the Manage menu → Budget Templates. To add or edit the cost codes themselves, go to the Manage menu → Cost Codes.

1. Go to the Budget tab in the ribbon menu.

2. Click "+ New Item" and select "Import Template."

3. Choose which template you'd like to start with. Once imported, you can add, remove, or edit line items.
