Creating a Change Order

Create a change order when an awarded vendor or subcontractor bid needs to change.

A change order (not a budget revision) is used if the line item is awarded and has a bid amount from an outside vendor.

1. In the project Budget, click the "Options" button on the specific line item, and select "Create Change Order."

2. The workflow will be nearly identical to creating an Approval: in the Details section add the basic request details, then click "Continue" to move to the Files section and attach any documents.

3. Under People, choose each person's role: "Approval Req." (must review and approve), "View Only" (sees the request but isn't required to approve), or "Not Shared" (excluded entirely).

4. Under Line Items, make the necessary cost change adjustment only, not the total.

5. Optionally, link the approval to a subcontract, RFI, or task in the Link To section.

6. Optionally, add discussion in the Comments section.

7. Click the green button to send the change order.
