A pay application rolls up everything billed to a project during a period — approved subcontractor and supplier bills, signed lien releases, and crew hours — into one request, so you're not re-entering numbers you already tracked in Ally.
1. In the Billing tab, click "+ New" under Pay Applications.
2. Give the pay application a number using your own naming convention, and set "For Period Ending" to a date before today. Ally automatically pulls in every approved, cost-coded bill from suppliers and subcontractors through that date, as well as include signed lien releases.
3. To add crew hours, click "Manage," then "Pull Time Sheets," and set the start and end dates for the period. Note: a timesheet entry only pulls in if its cost code is already in the project budget.
4. Click "Save Changes" to save the pay application, then compare the total against QuickBooks Online to confirm everything matches.
5. To send it to your client, click "Manage," then "Send to Client." Search for the contact or click "Create" to add a new one, optionally add a message, and click "Send & Record Budget."
